Colombia Retreat
Journey to the Roots of Yagé
Deep in the Putumayo rainforest, where the medicine was born, this retreat offers far more than ceremonies. It is a complete immersion into the ancestral traditions of the Amazon, guided by indigenous shamans, surrounded by pristine nature and supported by a community walking the same path of transformation.
Arriving in the Jungle
Every journey begins by leaving the familiar behind.
Upon arriving at Pachamama Hostel, participants are welcomed into a peaceful environment surrounded by the Colombian rainforest. The retreat begins with an opening circle, where intentions are shared and the group prepares to enter a space of trust, presence and transformation. The first evening concludes with an Ayahuasca ceremony, opening the journey with respect and guidance from indigenous traditions.
"Transformation begins the moment you step into the jungle."
Living with the Medicine
A journey guided by ancestral traditions.
Throughout the retreat, participants take part in several traditional ceremonies guided by experienced indigenous shamans. Depending on the stage of the journey, the experience may include Ayahuasca, Kambo, Yopo and Wachuma, always integrated with periods of rest, reflection and group sharing. Rather than focusing only on the ceremonies themselves, the retreat creates space for each experience to be understood, embodied and naturally integrated into everyday life.
"The medicine is only one part of the journey. Integration gives it meaning."
The Living Forest
Learning directly from the Amazon.
Between ceremonies, guided excursions into the rainforest become an essential part of the experience. Walking through the Amazon with local guides offers the opportunity to discover medicinal plants in their natural environment, understand the relationship between indigenous communities and the forest, and reconnect with nature through direct experience rather than theory.
Preparing the Sacred Medicine
Understanding the complete cycle of Yagé.
One of the most unique moments of the retreat is participating in the traditional preparation of Yagé (Ayahuasca). Participants witness the entire process, from the selection of the plants to the long hours of slow cooking over the sacred fire. Throughout the day and night, the fire is kept alive while songs, silence and shared presence transform the preparation itself into a ceremonial experience. Finally, participants have the opportunity to receive the very medicine they helped prepare, completing a full cycle of learning and respect for this ancestral tradition.
"To truly understand the medicine, it is important to understand how it is born."
Indigenous Culture & Local Traditions
Discovering the living heritage of the Amazon.
The journey also includes opportunities to experience the cultural richness of the region beyond the ceremonial space. Visits to local communities and traditional markets allow participants to discover Amazonian medicinal plants, natural remedies, handmade ceremonial instruments and indigenous crafts created using ancestral knowledge passed down through generations. Every encounter offers a deeper understanding of the people, traditions and way of life that continue to protect this wisdom today.
Integration & Closing
Returning home with a different perspective.
As the retreat draws to a close, participants gather to share their experiences, reflect on their personal journey and celebrate the transformation they have lived together. Integration circles, time in nature and a final shared dinner create space to honour the process before returning home. The true journey, however, begins after leaving the jungle, carrying everything that has been discovered into everyday life.
